Waffle Maker Help – How Do I Use a Waffle Maker?

I have waffle mix ready to go but am not totally sure how to use the waffle maker itself. Do I need to use Pam or some non-stick spray? How much batter do I pour in and how long do i need to let it cook? Should I flip it? I have a fairly new model of flip waffle maker. It has a timer and is capable of being flipped. Does anyone have any advice?

Well, I suppose everybody’s waffle makers work differently. My waffle maker has a timer as well, and is capable of being turned. What I do to make waffles is, take a big ladle of batter, and fill the waffle deck up (no need to Pam, its never stuck for me, but maybe you do just to be safe). Then close the lid, and turn 180 degrees, which will begin the cooking process. If I don’t turn mine, it won’t cook. When the waffle maker chirps, the waffles are done.
But I don’t know how yours works, since I don’t know the exact model. Perhaps you should look at your, mmm, waffle maker manual? If you for some reason don’t have one, call up the manufacturer and ask how you work their machine.

  • and then I said:

Spray with a little bit of pam on the inside. Use about an ice cream scoop’s worth or two of the mix and place it directly in the center of the waffle maker. Spread it out a bit with the back of the spoon and shut. Cook to your waffle makers directions and enjoy. I like cook whip and fruit on top of my belgian waffles. Delish!

Pam works just fine. no flipping required if it has a lid. about a cup. Some might run over onto the sides, but it’s better to have a full waffle than a partial one. I use Bisquick

Heat the waffler, spray with cooking spray, exactly 2/3 cup of batter will make the perfect waffle…
